Citizens Advice York are seeking a Trustee Treasurer
Citizens Advice York (CAY) is a very important organisation, never more so in the present very difficult national circumstances. It provides advice and support in York to over 5000 people a year and helps them with some 15,000 different problems. The Charity provides advice on topics such as welfare and housing benefits, employment, debt, energy costs and relationships. It’s run by a small professional team, including a Finance Manager, who work alongside and support c. 50 volunteers to provide advice at the City Council offices in York, at various outreach venues in the City, by Webchat and on the phone.
Citizens Advice York is a member of the national Citizens Advice organisation. It is, though, a local charity at the heart of our community, entirely funded by grants, donations and fees for contracted services.
There is a small team of trustees with responsibility for the overall direction, strategy and performance of the Charity. It’s stimulating, responsible work with an experienced, capable group.
There is a vacancy for a qualified and experienced accountant to join the board as a trustee and Treasurer.
It’s an interesting and very worthwhile role for a qualified, experienced accountant who’s looking to broaden their horizons and contribute to the community.
They are keen to have a diverse board that reflects the local community in York and welcome applications from all members of the community from different backgrounds – men and women, people of all ages, sexual orientations, nationalities, religions and beliefs. They welcome applications from disabled and BAME candidates.
